THE PUMPKIN CONTEST WINNERS:
Here are the winners, from third to first place:
3rd Place/Prize is a tie between
Josh Meseck and
Miranda Doerfler, who each created scary scenes
which wrapped around the sphere...Prizes to both!
2nd Place/Prize goes to
Elizabeth Davis not
only for the creature with the big teeth and hands under the stairs but also the pumpkin carved with a crowd of zombies. So a Prize going to Elizabeth!
And the winner is...1st Place/Prize
Natalie
Tomaszewski - whose Nosferatu blew my mind. The imagery is sophisticated and the technique shows a mastery of the pumpkin arts.
HONORABLE MENTIONS:Everyone knows I am a soft touch. I just have a hard time picking the best. So these are also pumkin artworks, costumes...etc that Robert and I really liked. Last year I sent little gifts off to the Honorable mentioned folks. If I can this year too, I will...but temper your expectations, things are CRAAZZZYYY around the Englund household...so the Honorable Mentions might have to accept just my personal thanks this year...we'll see. Here goes:
Krilova Ekaterina for those creepy paintings
Joshua
Dean for fun images and excellent use of negative space,
Dragonroar Ruthie for her
complex mis-en-scene
Amber Buttrum's anime mash-up.
Aelia Petro inadvertently with her pumpkin contest entry.
Sara Childers inadvertantly wins the Costume Contest...which we were'nt holding, but it's definately on for next year!!!!
and...
Robert Kriess!
Thank you ALL for participating. Everyone who entered will get a signed postcard. But please send me your snail mail addresses through the website's contact form...
Just put CONTEST in the subject line.
Love and Happy Holidays to all you little monsters... Nancy
November 3, 2011, 4:52:28 PM****Contest winner Update***
Webmonster Rhet here to tell all you Pumpkin Killuhs that I am waiting on Robert and Nancy to pick this year's winners. They are travelling back from Bulgaria and the only IT product they have is the Apple Ipad...which as you are all aware of because of my own site update struggles, does not show FLASH and our photo album is a Flash product.
Nancy has informed me when they return to the USA she and Rob will pick and let me know.
I will post the winners in this section of the site. Stay tuned....lotsaluv from your fierce Webmonster typing across the street from the Bilbao Guggenheim in Spain!
October 26, 2011, 11:14:07 AMHALLOWEEN CONTEST UPDATE:
Hi all. As you may well know, webmonster Rhet is on vacation in Europe and struggling with various hotel WI-FIs which are proving difficult in regards to Updating the Halloween Contest
Please note that his current stay in Holland is the toughest yet. He IS receiving the entries through email, so keep them coming.
BUT...he can't post any pics at this time with the current hotel's WI FI. So contestants will have to wait until he hits Paris by week's end to actually see their entry online. However, your entries ARE counted.
Because of this, we will accept entries all the way until Oct. 31st (Halloween) and then (hopefully) announce the winner a few days after that.

from webmonster Rhet:
hi all...I am currently in Norway, visiting my husband's ancestral home. For those who have never been, this place is truly amazing, and the people rock!
I am trying to run the site from here, but it's a little difficult. So bear with me.
Halloween has arrived in Oslo, and I grabbed a few pics of a local store for your enjoyment:
